::Danubio Azul 8 day budget cruise We went on a private charter for our two families of nine people. We booked through Maria at Nature Galapagos. We had to send money to an Ecuadorian account to pay in advance but all was well with this. Maria helped book the appropriate flights from the mainland to Balta as well. Maria was helpful and immediately responsive with all our worries. The crew of Danubio was wonderful. Cap. Wilson diverted to chase dolphins and made many special efforts for us. The chef Miguel was a magician in his tiny kitchen and was able to accommodate one of us who is on a gluten-free diet. She loved the food too! Everyone was super friendly. The boat was clean and the rooms tidied daily. The sights of the Galapagos are of course, spectacular. Being on a small boat meant that we had most places all to ourselves. We had an excellent English speaking guide, Manuel. Guides are assigned through the park administration though. This is a small budget boat. It does have a good bit of ocean movement and we had a few rough patches with a few of us getting sick despite medication. Don't leave home without it! It was really not bad though and the benefits of the private boat more than make up for some rocking and rolling.
