::I vacationed in Manta for 5 weeks and ate at Maido with my son 6 or 7 times. We enjoyed it every time. I have spent over 20 months in Japan and know the cuisine quite well. I've also experienced many Japanese restaurants in the US and France. Maido gets the fundamental foods right such as rice, miso, gyoza... all excellent. The tempura is outstanding with perfect flavor in the sauce, good variety in vegetables and ample crunchy coating. The sushi that we sampled was also top notch. Finally the service was very attentive. All the waiters were patient with my poor Spanish. I only wished I had tried a little more variety of the menu! I hope the people of Manta and those who visit there support the Maido restaurant. It is a real treasure in experiencing authentic and excellent Japanese food!

::Had some great sushi here. They have a nice outdoor dining area. The vegetarian menu looked really good as well with lots of options for the plant eaters.
