::Hacienda La Jimenita is a very special place, more of an estate where one feels like the baron or baroness. The nature paths are charming; one of them is a vigorous hike into a canyon, and one is gentle; both are beautiful. The service is impeccable and the fare is excellent. We'd like to live there! ::Our two day Hacienda La Jimenita included walking the extensive trails, watching birds, taking meals at the Hacienda restaurant. The trails include views of a steep canyon, and follow an old aqueduct. The property contains a very interesting archaeological tunnel/cellar that we explored. I suggest bringing a headlamp for the tunnel. A bird-watcher's paradise, there are numerous feeding stations for hummingbirds and tanagers around the property. Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated. The Hacienda includes excellent breakfast with brewed coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, cereal and bread. We also ate dinner, which was delicious. The staff speaks English and they provided us affordable transportation to the airport. We would certainly come back.
