  Absolutely amazing experience staying at El Cafecito Hostel. The owner Tony was beyond helpful at every turn. Stayed in a private room. Hostel is 4 floors including a rooftop bar with spectacular views overlooking the city of Cuenca! Food/alcohol selections were great. Hostel is clean, safe, and is centrally located in a safe area. Tour Desk was super helpful in helping plan entire trip not only in Cuenca but in all of Ecuador. Hostel is a must stay in Cuenca!

  This restaurant is a hidden gem ! BEST chicken I’ve ever had along with the BEST guacamole on the planet. Everything fresh including daily fresh juices. I had the opportunity to eat at many high end restaurants including 2 in Cuenca and the food at El Cafecito is actually better and not to mention a fraction of the price. For 3$ you can eat like a king at El Cafecito, I’m serious. If I had to eat at only 1 restaurant for the rest of my life it would be El Cafecito. Great food great atmosphere great prices, period. Love it.

  Definitely El Cafecito will be your home away from home. Tony, the owner, is very welcoming and friendly. He is also very knowledgeable abou the city and Ecuador being able to give you recommendations on what to do and where to go in the country. Often he organizes nice dinners and activities in the hostel, a great opportunity for those willing to get to know like minded travelers. The rooftop is amazing, the rooms are clean and bed comfortable. The hostel is very well located, all the sights are a walking distance from there. Free coffee and tea all day long. I enjoyed my stay very much and I am looking forward to going back. Thank you for everything, Tony.

  Prefect location, comfortable room and very hospitable host. Tony was so friendly and easy to talk to. He gave us great suggestions for things to do around Cuenca along with food suggestions and local experiences. He makes the effort to socialize everyone on the rooftop with fun games and stories. Really lovely experience.
